“The Future of Ukraine (Sokal Region)” is a registered charitable foundation dedicated to helping schoolchildren from low-income families in the city of Sokal in Western Ukraine. We are guided by the indomitable values of love, kindness and selflessness.
Chrystyna Chase (née Lukomskyj) first had the idea of creating the foundation in 2005. Having emigrated to Canada from Ukraine as a child in 1945, she kept Ukrainian culture alive in Edmonton, Canada, through her work as a Ukrainian language teacher and an active member of various Ukrainian organizations. When she saw that Ukraine was emerging as an independent country, she looked for ways to uplift Ukraine even further. In Chrystyna’s opinion, the most effective approach was to support the country’s future: its youth.
